A suspended laptop sleeve does not touch the bottom of the bag, so setting the pack down hard does not put the impact through the machine. On a daypack at this price that is unusual.
Carrying it
Eighteen litres is a full school or college day — laptop, two books, a bottle and lunch. The sternum strap keeps the shoulder straps from sliding on a bike.
