Most notebooks in this price range use 70 or 80gsm paper, which ghosts badly with anything wetter than a ballpoint. 100gsm is the difference between using both sides of a page and not.
Writing in it
The sewn binding lies flat from page one, so you are not fighting the spine to write in the gutter. Numbered pages make an index at the front worth keeping.
Good to know
Very wet fountain pen nibs will still feather slightly on the ivory stock. Fineliners, gel and ballpoint show no bleed-through.
